travel diet tips
Now we see in the October issue of Self an article asking “Is Your Job Making You Fat?” that includes suggestions for working at home and traveling for work, which we have condensed for your information.

Proximity to Fridge

Problems: Working at home can be rewarding and convenient but the trap lies in the constant proximity to the fridge, and that weight gained from endless snacking can be concealed in the sweats that are like a uniform for those in a home office.

Solutions:
–Resolve to keep the fridge off-limits between meals, keep reminding yourself
–Keep water at your desk, and healthy snacks to be eaten only when hungry
–Get dressed everyday, sweats are just for working out, wear tell-all stylish jeans
–Get out of the house for fresh air & exercise everyday, just get out, get moving

Traps for Biz Traveler

Problem: The working life of a sales rep entails lots of meetings, socializing, centered on food, and can also involve a lot of time alone in the car with only snacks for company and no opportunity for exercise

Solutions:
–Keep snacks away from the front seat; listen to the radio for company
–In a hotel take advantage of hotel gym; work out hard in your hotel room
–Eat a healthy breakfast before your first meeting and avoid the pastry tray

We hope these trips lessen temptations awaiting you in a home office or on the road. Wishing you work that brings you happiness and an eating/exercise plan that keeps you healthy!
